J. Max Hamidi, CCIM
Max Hamidi, CCIM, has built a career spanning more than 25 years in commercial real estate, with deep expertise in site selection, retail property acquisition, and convenience store development. He was first introduced to the commercial real estate industry in the mid-1980s by Phil Joseph, a site selection specialist and Vice President of Franchise Development for Perkins Family Restaurant. At the time, Hamidi served as Franchise Regional Manager for Perkins Family Restaurants, where he worked closely with Joseph across the Northeastern United States assisting franchisees with site selection, ensuring new locations met corporate standards while positioning franchise owners for long-term success. During this period, the team approved and opened multiple new locations, reinforcing Hamidi’s understanding of how strategic site selection can create lasting competitive advantages.
After more than 27 years of achievement in the restaurant industry, Hamidi expanded his professional focus and entered the real estate field in 1997 as a mortgage and real estate broker with RE/MAX Real Estate Company. He soon began specializing in the sale and disposition of gas stations and convenience stores, facilitating numerous transactions for the Circle K brand throughout Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and the greater Memphis market. By focusing on larger, more complete convenience and fueling stations, he helped support the continued growth of one of the most recognizable convenience store brands in the world.
Among his most notable accomplishments was working with a local investment group to acquire 42 stores from an Exxon franchisee, a complex project that included lease analysis, fuel supply agreements, and the strategic disposition of duplicate locations within the market.
In 2017, Hamidi joined Marcus & Millichap in Memphis, Tennessee, further expanding his commercial real estate expertise before later launching his own firm. Today, he serves as CEO and Managing Broker of Sperry Commercial Global Affiliates, Magellan Group. In this role, Hamidi works with clients to acquire retail properties, develop strip centers, lease and manage commercial assets, and provide a full range of real estate advisory services designed to help investors and business owners achieve long-term success.

Ginny comes to Sperry with Economic Development experience with the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce. She has helped companies like Stonebridge Golf Course through ownership transitions as well as renovations with companies like Gateway Tire. Ginny was also instrumental in bringing Sprouts, The Lake District, Orange Theory Fitness, and locally owned retail into Lakeland, TN.
